By Tobiloba-Taiwo Awofadeju A wave of sorrow swept through Oke-Ila in Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun State today, as family, friends, and well-wishers gathered to bid a tearful farewell to the late Executive Secretary of the Osun State Council for Arts and Culture, Olori Christiana Solape Abolarin. The funeral service, held at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Oke-Ila, drew mourners from across the country and beyond, all united in grief as they paid their final respects to a beloved wife, leader, and public servant. Presiding over the service, Pastor Olusola Ajayi delivered a poignant sermon titled “My Redeemer Liveth”, drawing from Job 13:15. He reminded the congregation of the inevitability of death and urged them to place their trust in God rather than in man. Ebenezer Adeniji (Ebenco), has extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved royal family of Abolarin, the people of Oke- Ila Community, and the entire Osun State as a whole on the passing of the Executive Secretary of the Council, Olori (Mrs) Christianah Solape Abolarin, also known as the beautiful queen of Oke-Ila who gave up the ghost on Monday, June 9th, 2025 after a brief illness. This is contained in a condolence message signed by the Commissioner of the Ministry, Hon.Abiodun Bankole Ojo and made available to newsmen in Osogbo. The Commissioner, who described the death of the deceased as a rude shock to the Ministry and the State Government, therefore lamented that her demise came at a time when her services are mostly needed by the state, adding that the vacuum left behind by her will be very difficult to fill. In the condolences message jointly signed by the Bord Chairman, Hon.Taiwo Adeleke and the General Manager, Mrs Oluwatoyin Ajayi, and made available to the newsmen, they described the death of Mrs Solape Abolarin as a rude shock to the State Government whose service will be most needed at this point in time, saying the vacuum left behind will be very difficult to fill. They averred that the process leading to the appointment did not follow due process. Concerned Indigenes of Ijesaland, at a press conference held in Esa-Oke town at the weekend, expressed concern over what they termed “selection process” in choosing the new Rector. Approved Road Construction: Osun Communities Remind Osun Government Over Delayed in their Road Construction.

By Oduduwa Media  Dwellers of Oloja-Bala, Irepodun, Gidigbi and Olodo, off Osunjela called attention of the state government to their road which has been approved for construction in the year 2025 budget. Speaking with Oduduwa Media, the group of landlords and communities dwellers lamented what they face daily especially during this raining season with the condition of the road. Erosion has damaged the road, makes it unbearable for the motorists using the road. Civil servants living within the communities complained fare charged by the tricycle riders which the condition of the road caused. Farmers too lamented stress they undergo regularly to bring their farm produce to the town. They collectively called on the Osun State government to come to their rescue, since the road construction has been approved already.
