Osun NUJ Felicitates Christians, Calls for Unity and Responsible Leadership at Easter

  The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council , has extended Easter greetings to Christian faithful in the state, urging Nigerians to embrace the virtues of love, sacrifice, and unity as symbolized by the season. This is according to a statement issued by the Chairman, Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin and the Secretary, Comrade Olalekan Akindoju , to mark the Easter celebration. The Council described the occasion as a period that reflects hope, renewal, and the triumph of good over evil.  It noted that the significance of Easter goes beyond religious observance, calling on citizens to imbibe the values of selflessness, humility, and tolerance exemplified by Jesus Christ . NUJ Osun Executives Seek Stronger Media-Academic Collaboration with FedPoly Ede, Osun State University

  The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council , has intensified efforts to strengthen collaboration between the media and academic institutions , following a series of courtesy visits to the management of Federal Polytechnic, Ede , and Osun State University . This is according to statement issued by the Secretary of the NUJ Osun Council, Comrade Olalekan Akindoju . During a visit to the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, the NUJ delegation was received by the Rector, Dr. Sani Man Yahaya , who emphasized the indispensable role of journalists in society.  He noted that without the media, many significant events and developments would go undocumented, stressing that journalism remains a cornerstone of societal growth and accountability.   The Commandant of the Nigeria Army Depot, Osogbo , Brigadier General Buhari Madaki, has commended journalists for their critical role in promoting national security through responsible reportage and information dissemination. Brigadier General Madaki made the remark while receiving the executives of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council , during a courtesy visit to the Depot. He emphasized that ensuring security in the country remains a collective responsibility of all stakeholders, describing the media as key partners in sustaining peace and stability. The Commandant described the visit as timely and significant, noting that the Nigeria Army Depot, established in June 2025, was created to train non-commissioned officers as part of efforts to strengthen the operational capacity of the Nigerian Army .
