Osun State NUJ Inaugurates New Executive

  By Olayinka Awofadeju  As only thing that's permanent in life is change, the tenure of Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu as Osun State NUJ Council Chairman ended and election was conducted to bring in the new executive on Tuesday 17th February, 2026 at the Osun State NUJ Press Center . The voting started around 10:00AM between Alhaji Sofiu Abdulganiyu from Ministry of Information and Dr. Aboderin Adeyemi from Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) for the post of Chairman and Mr. Akindoju Olalekan from RAVE FM and Mr. Lateef Dada from Correspondence Chapel for the post of Secretary, while Mr. Saheed Adegboje the only candidate for the post of Treasurer who won on opposed. To commence the exercise, 233 members were accredited to cast their votes for the candidates of their choice. O-SAMA Honours Former Executive Secretaries, Says Their Legacy Is Worthy of Emulation

 Tobiloba Taiwo-Awofadeju The Osun State Asset Management Agency ( O-SAMA ) has celebrated two of its former Executive Secretaries, Alhaji Lukman Adedeji and Alhaji Oyesiku Adelu , describing their service to the agency as exemplary and worthy of emulation. The celebration, which was organised under the leadership of the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Osun State on Asset Management, Hon. Mrs. Fausat Sarumi-Adebanjo , to honour the invaluable contributions of the retired officials to the growth and stability of the agency. Alhaji Lukman Adedeji, who retired from the agency three years ago, and his immediate successor, Alhaji Oyesiku Adelu, who retired few weeks ago, were commended for their dedication, discipline and commitment, which significantly strengthened the operational capacity of O-SAMA. Elites Club of Aagba commended for payment of WAEC Fees

  The Principal, Aagba Methodist High School , Mr. Mr. E.O. Odewuyi has commended the Elites Club of Aagba for payment of WAEC Fees for 14 Senior Secondary School students of the school  for the 2025/2026 academic session. The Principal, in a letter he addressed to the Club's President, Mr. Femi Aboderin stated that the club paid a sum of Five Hundred and Eighty-Eight Thousand Naira (N588,000) for Fourteen indigent students of the Methodist High School, Aagba as WAEC Fees". The Principal noted that, through the payment, the Club has invested into the lives of the students. The letter reads in part, "Your kindness has made a huge difference in these young lives, giving them a chance to pursue their education and future dreams. Selective Attention in Governance by Governor Ademola Adeleke - 2017 Retirees

One of the December 2017 retirees who spoke under anonymity cleared air on the payment of the retirees, he claimed that Governor Ademola Adeleke has neglected retirees who retired in the year 2017 till date.  According to him, they have contacted the commissioner for information, Hon. Kolapo Alimi over the matter, but his response degenerated into another issue as he claimed that local government fund seized by the federal government was the cause of the non payment of their funds. The group said "if that was the cause, where is the administration seeing money used in roads and bridges construction? Should a father tell the children to wait till he complete his house building before he pays their tuition fees?" Leaders of various parties are preparing to engage the masses to plead for their votes and while some have even started engaging the masses. Sir, many members with many followers are decamping these days, which some of them said it was effect of work without proper reward which is reducing our population gradually. When a leader leaves the party, some will call him/her paper weight politicians . Now, opposition are getting stronger day by day and we are seeing nothing wrong in it. UNIOFFA matriculates 350 students for 2025/2026 academic session

 By Cecillia Asaolu, Oladimeji Pinheiro  University of  Offa, Kwara State , on wednesday matriculated a total of 350 undergraduate  students for the 2025/2026 academic session at the 4th matriculation ceremony . Speaking during the matriculation ceremony at the permanent site of the institution in Offa, the Vice Chancellor ,Professor. Kazeem Alagbe Gbolagade,  said  that over 400 candidates applied for admission in the current academic session. A total of 350 candidates were offered admission into the degree programmes, while over 100 candidates were also  denied. .Prof Gbolagade  who described the admission process as highly competitive, advised the matriculants not to take their admission for granted or treat it with levity. “This success of yours should not be short-lived.
