  Peter Obi and the Africa Democratic Congress leaders on visit to Edo at the formal declaration of Olumide Akpata into the African Democratic Congress were attacked by armed thugs. This was disclosed by Obi’s former campaign spokesman and National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide , Dr. Yunusa Tanko , in a statement issued in Abuja.  "Immediately the ADC leaders with 2023 Presidential Candidate under Labour party, Peter Obi left the ADC State Secretariat to the residence of Chief John Odigie-Oyegun , the political armed thugs had followed.  The armed thugs were ready to kill everyone if not that the gate was quickly locked against them before DSS personnel started retaliating. Kayode Egbetokun has been removed from  his position as Inspector General of Police by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu . Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed fast tracking of several critical projects across the state, warning against distractions in public governance . He spoke Sunday night at a review meeting with key officials supervising ongoing projects across major towns such as Ila Orangun , Iwo , Ile Ife , Ilesa , Osogbo , Ikirun among others. The governor directed the officials to ensure timely completion of the mega projects ongoing at Ile Ife, Iwo, Osogbo, Ikirun and several other towns, warning that governance tempo must be sustained in the best interest of the people. “I have been carrying out secret supervisions of many ongoing projects.
