Commencement of Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme (PCGS)

Mood of many Nigerians change positively on Sunday morning as large number of citizens received SMS to invite them for the data capturing at various LCDAs in the nation.

Osun State is not exempted, people gathered at the designated places attached with the SMS sent to them before stipulated time which is 9:00am.

The programme is slater for five days, starting from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th of April. Instead of commencing by 9:00am, the exercise started by 11:00am on Monday at LCDA Secretariat, Magbon/Oyan road, Ila-Orangun and at different other places.

The SMS sent made it clear for all beneficiaries to come with their NIN slip as it will the only requirement to benefit from the federal government grant.

The LCDA Chairman who saw the programme as impromptu quickly provided plastic chairs for people to seat while waiting for their turn as the exercise was adjudge peaceful. Staff of the LCDA who talked with our reporter said, they were just getting to know about the programme in their LCDA this morning.

The response was commended by the participants as very impressive and the staff attached to the LCDA as responsible.

Participants urged federal government to start the payment of the grant in time without wasting time as some claimed to have been collecting theirs since last year.

14th Convocation Ceremony: JABU Graduates 467 Students

 By Olayinka Awofadeju At Joseph Ayo Babalola University Vice Chancellor's press conference held on 4th December, 2023 at the Senate Chamber. Vice Chancellor, Professor Olaosebikan Fakolujo that the University graduated 467 students while 23 finished with first class, 205 finished with second class upper, 172 finished with second class lower and others are within third class to pass. The overall best graduating student for the academic session was Mary Ayobayo from Computer Science. She graduated with 4.89, which is a step better than the last best graduating student who finished with 4.87. While speaking, VC made it known that the school equally graduated 12 PhD students in 2022/2023 academic session. Eight PhD students graduated from the department of Entrepreneurship, three from Business Administration while one graduated from Accounting department.
