Traditional sports should be included in School curriculum--Governor Adeleke

 Tobiloba Taiwo- Awofadeju  ...Promises support for cultural games and traditional sports development In a bid to improve quality and standard of education in Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke has advised that traditional games and sports should be included in the curriculum and educational activities for students and pupils in the state. The Governor gave the advice in Osogbo the state capital, during the first edition of Osun Traditional Sport and Games Competition, which was a part of the Osun children cultural show organized by the Osun State Council for Art and culture.   Governor Adeleke, who spoke through the Executive Secretary of the Council, Mrs Solape Abolarin assured people of the state, especially the participants at the epoch making event that his administration places much premium on culture and traditions. Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has disclosed that Oduduwa culture is the richest in the world which any parent can bequeath to the younger generation. The Governor made this known in Osogbo, the State Capital, during the maiden edition of Oduduwa Festival, 2024, organized by Osun State Tourism Board and Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria, (FTAN), Southwest. Governor Adeleke, who spoke through his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, assured people of the state and participants at the event that his administration is targeting tourism together with cultural industry as a money spinner to replace reliance on federal allocation, stressing that his administration's strategy is to earn billion of dollars revenue from the sector.
