2024 World Theater Day: Let's work for sustainability of theater legacies among future generations to boost the state economy, Gov. Adeleke tells stakeholders
Tobiloba Taiwo-Awofadeju The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has urged the people of the state, especially, theatre stakeholders to sustain the legacies of the sector among future generations, thereby redeeming its glory for the benefit of the state. The Governor gave the advice at the year 2024 World Theater Day celebration, held in Osogbo, the State Capital. Governor Adeleke, who spoke through the Vice- Chairman, Osun State Council for Art and Culture, Hon. Seyi Orolugbagbe, stressed that theater goes beyond entertainment, but a wealth creator, and employer of labour. He added that Osun remains the hub of theater practice, stating that the State has many iconic figures in the industry such as, Late Oyin Adejobi; Late Duro ladipo, Kareem Adepoju, popularly known as Baba Wande, Ray Eyiwumi and Kola Ogunmola among others, who had their exploits beyond the shores of Nigeria.
