Open Letter to Pastor Kumuyi, Adeboye, Olukoya and Oyedepo on Biblical Teachings

Many Christian leaders emphasized the Bible's significance as a guide for believers on their spiritual journey to heaven. Considered the Word of God, the Bible provides teachings, wisdom, and instructions for living a virtuous life.

These questions are directed to Pastor W.F. Kumuyi of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor E. A. Adeboye of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Daniel Adekoya of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry and Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel) due to their wealth of knowledge in the word of God and their relationship with God. These are part of the most revered men of God in Nigeria and all over the world.

There are three teachings which have got some believers confused from interpretation given to them from some pastors of some local churches. Teachings on baptism, tithes and marriage.

Matthew 28:19 says "go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit".

This passage means baptism comes after discipling the convert which means after receiving salvation. Some pastors said changing denomination requires another baptism in the new church under the new denomination, how true is this side by side with the word of God? They are not unbeliever again, just moving from one church to another. Why should they go through another baptism?

Second teaching is on tithe, the book of Deuteronomy 26:12-13 says "When you have finished laying aside all the tithes of your inrease in the third year- the year of tithing - and have given it to the Levith, the strangers, the fatherless and the widow, so that they may eat within your gates and be filled.

Then you shall say before the Lord your God: 'i have removed the holy tithe from my house, and also have given them to the Levite, the strangers, the fatherless and the widow, according to all Your commandments, nor have I forgotten them".

Regards this passage which is clear, many ministers say no, tithes must only be paid to your pastor that laboured on you in your church alone.

My question is where is this stated in the word of God and why should only pastors be beneficiary of the tithe contrary to what God said in this passage?

There are lot of needy in the church today, instead for the ministers of God to assist, they will rather look for suitable passage in the Bible to make them give the last they have. When will these remaining three be fed or assisted according to the word of God?

Lastly, the book of Exodus 21:10-11 says "if he takes another wife, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, and her marriage right.

And if he does not do these three for her, then she shall go out free without paying money".

In this passage, God gave the instruction to follow if to marry second wife, does it mean that as a child of God, two wives is permitted?

Book of 2 Samuel 12:8 says "I have given you your master's house and your master's wives into your keeping, and gave you the house of Israel and Judah. And if that has been too little, I also would have given you much more".

Does it mean that having more than one wife is not a sin to God?

Genesis 25:5-6 says "and Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.

But Abraham gave gifts to the sons of the concubines which Abraham had; and while he was still living he sent them Eastward, away from Isaac his son to the country of the East.

These passages say that having more than one wife was not a sin to God, why contrary teaching today concerning marriage? These people from the scripture were people we pray through them today, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and others, yet they were polygamy.
