The Nigeria Union of Journalists,Osun State Council will tomorrow in the afternoon hold its 2025 NUJ Press Week Award Day at NUJ Press Centre ,Osogbo.

A statement by the Chairman of the Union, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu and the Secretary,Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin indicates that Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke is the Special Guest of Honour while the Chairman,Osun State University Teaching Hospital,Dr Niyi Owolade is the Chairman of the Occasion.

The statement notes that the Orangun of Oke Ila,Oba Adedokun Abolarin and Alawo of Awo, Oba AbdulRasaq Adegboye are Royal Fathers of the Day while Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi is expected as Chief Host.

Some distinguished Nigerians who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of the state as well as in their chosen careers would be honored at the event.

The Awardees includes Olukoyi of Ikoyi,Oba Taofeek Akande Iyiola Morenigbade as Outstanding Traditional Ruler of the Year and the Chairman,Osun State Teaching Service Commission Comrade Mustapha Adeyemi would also receive Award of Excellence as Outstanding Public Admistrator of the Year while Commissioner for Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations ,Dr Olabiyi Odunlade will be honored as Political Icon of the Year . His counterpart in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry,Dr Bunmi Jenyo will receive an Outstanding Public Service l6eadership Award.

Others includes Commissioner for iIntegration and Special Duties,Dr Basiru Tokunbo Salami will be honored with Transformative Leadership Award and his counterpart in the Ministry of Rural Development and Community Affairs will receive an Outstanding Grassroots Politician of the Year award .

The Treasurer of NLC in the state and Deputy President of NULGE,Comrade Iyabo Olarewaju will receive an Award of Excellence as Outstanding Labour Leader of the Year while Mr Akeem Adewale Ogunkoya will receive an Outstanding Telecommunications leadership and Impact Award.

Prince Jimmy Oyinlola will receive an Award of Excellence as Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year while Moniepoint will receive Corporate Organization Award of the Year.

Chief Pinheiro Resigns from People's Democratic Party

His decision according to him are internal politicking, and intrigues ahead of next general election, personal interest and power play which has become order of the day without no hope of amicably resolution.   By Olayinka Awofadeju  ......Charges Admitted Students to pay Acceptance Fees within Two Weeks Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree has declared that it has released the Admission Lists for its 2024/2025 Academic Session saying candidates are expected to pay the Acceptance Fees within two weeks. A statement by the Registrar of the Institution, Mr Abiodun Oyedele Oloyede states that all applicants for both the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National (HND) into various programmes of the Institution are urged to check their admission status and pay their Acceptance Fees of #30,000.00 (Thirty Thousand Naira) promptly.
