NUMACS holds 1st Academic Leadership Summit

 

Mass Communication Students 

The National Union of Mass Communication Students (NUMACS), held the maiden edition of the Academic Leadership Summit on the 30th of November, 2023 at Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State. The program focuses on the need for Mass Communication Students to get it right and get involved on their field. 

In his address, the Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, Professor Alex represented by the Sub-Dean Dr. Adesoye Ebunoluwa charges the students to be involved in anywhere they find themselves. While delivering his address, the National President, National Union of Mass Communication Students (NUMACS) Comrade Adedotun Heritage Amoo appreciates everyone for their support in making the program a success. He therefore addressed the need for students to get go extra mile in making the communication world better and full of Mass Communication Students. "The media space is full of less core professionals from the field and more of non-core professionals which led apathy from the students of Mass Communication" he said. Appreciating the Guest Speaker and Lecturer, he  charged his colleagues to keep the flag flying as they journey through the world of adventure in communication.

The CEO Rave FM and Western Spring Television, Osogbo Dr. Adefemi Adefila urges the students to think beyond their certificate while speaking on the topic "Beyond Certification: Acquiring Set Skills". He emphasis on the need for self development and creativity in order to get it right on the field. 

Furthermore, the event witnessed Oratory Competition among institutions in Osun State which was won by Bowen University, Iwo, Inauguration and Swearing In of NUMACS Osun State Council Executives, Spoken Words, Unveiling of NUMACS Ambassadors and Awards presentation.
