U.S Backs Digital Transformation Drive

         The United States consulate General in Lagos, Will Stevens, expressed his commitment to furthering digital transformation in Nigeria. Stephens made this statement during the Global Tech Africa( GTA) 2023 event in Lagos, which focused on facilitating investments in Africa’s digital economy.

      Stevens commended Nigeria for its commendable efforts in pursuing digital transformation and praised the nation’s enthusiasm in embracing this technological shift.

         Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, the Director- General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) shared an optimistic outlook on Nigeria’s digital transformation future.

         The NITDA boss was really optimistic during his keynote speech in Lagos. The conference, organized by Ascend Studio Foundation in partnership with NITDA, the U.S Consulate Venture Garden Group, business Sweden, and Riu Excel Health aims to bring together tech stakeholders from Africa and around the world.

           Abdullahi highlighted Nigeria’s abundant human capital as its greatest asset. He believed that Nigeria has the potential to become a global talent factory and shape the future of work.

        He said “ It is evident that Nigeria is not just positioned to be the global talent factory, but we are also set for investment and global collaboration because all developed countries will suffer from that deficit. Including the United States of America”.

“But Nigeria, we have one of the youngest populations in the world. We have the largest population in Africa; the largest economy; we have the market, the youth, and the natural talent.
