14th Convocation Ceremony: JABU Graduates 467 Students

At Joseph Ayo Babalola University Vice Chancellor's press conference held on 4th December, 2023 at the Senate Chamber. Vice Chancellor, Professor Olaosebikan Fakolujo that the University graduated 467 students while 23 finished with first class, 205 finished with second class upper, 172 finished with second class lower and others are within third class to pass.
The overall best graduating student for the academic session was Mary Ayobayo from Computer Science. She graduated with 4.89, which is a step better than the last best graduating student who finished with 4.87.
While speaking, VC made it known that the school equally graduated 12 PhD students in 2022/2023 academic session. Eight PhD students graduated from the department of Entrepreneurship, three from Business Administration while one graduated from Accounting department.
As said by the VC, three prominent personalities will be honoured with honorary PhDs, they are Elder Abiola Popoola, Pastor Peter Ashade and Elder Oluwadare Bello. These three will be honoured on the convocation day which is this week Friday.
Vice Chancellor mentioned many progress made within the session which are, timely payment of full salaries and allowances, payment of palliatives to staff members since September 2023 to cushion the effect of economic hardship in the nation untill economy improves.
He also mentioned promotion of qualified members of staff, including pending promotion from 2022/2023 academic session. Improved lighting of the hostels, including introduction of solar streetlights, donation of 18 seater bus by parents forum, sustenance of internet bandwidth of 155 Mbps for an improved internet service on campus, and acquisition of more land (85 acres) are for future expansion.
Vice Chancellor also made known programmes for the one week convocation as he said Monday is for Vice Chancellor Press Conference by 10:00am, Wednesday is for Reunion Service/Football Match by 2:00pm, Thursday is for Convocation lecture by 1:00pm, and Friday is Convocation Ceremony starting by 11:00am.
