JABU Best Graduating Student Awarded One Million Naira

Joseph Ayo Babalola Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State holds the 14th Convocation Ceremony today Friday 8th December, 2023 at Oladele Olasore school auditorium.
The event was attended by dignitaries from the nooks and crannies of Nigeria and overseas.
At the ceremony, award of first degrees, higher degrees, conferment of honorary degrees, and investiture of the Chancellor were done simultaneously.
The auditorium was filled to capacity with graduands, visitors, and parents of the graduands.
The best-graduating students from various Departments were given prizes. There were prizes such as University award winners, Academic prize winners, and other Colleges, and individual prizes to motivate others to take their academics seriously.
Chancellor, Professor Anthony O. Adegbulugbe promised a million naira to the overall best student, five hundred thousand naira to all other first class students from other departments and others leading in their various Departments but not clinch first class were awarded two hundred and fifty thousand naira each apart from other awards from the institution and other dignitaries.
Vice Chancellor, Professor Olaosebikan Alade Fakolujo listed all the achievements of the institution during the last academic session. One of the achievements is the award of best institution award conferred on students of Mass Communication at NUMACS 1st Academic Leadership Summit held in Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State.
While enunciating the successes, he mentioned one of the professors, professor K.I.T. Eniola who was the Dean, College of Postgraduate and has been appointed as the first substantive Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University, Kabba, and success in various accreditation and resource verification visits by NUC.
The University awarded three distinguished personalities with honorary degrees, Pastor Peter Ashade with a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration (Honoris Causa), Elder Oluwadare Bello with a Doctorate Degree in Estate Management (Honoris Causa), and Elder Abiola Popoola with a Doctorate Degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management ( Honoris Causa).
For the 2022/2023 academic session, the University graduated twelve PhDs, fifty M.Sc, and 467 first degrees.
The overall best student was Mary Ayobami Ogunmola from the Department of Computer Science with a CGPA of 4.89. Other students with first class from various Departments in the institution are Clement Omokolade Omoniyi from the Department of Accounting with CGPA of 4.81, Abigail Odunola Alabi from the Department of Computer Science, with a CGPA of 4.78, Foluso Olajumoke Oyekale from the Department of Law, with CGPA of 4.65, Tomilola Oluwadasola Popoola from the Department of Mass Communication, with CGPA of 4.56, Angel Iyanuoluwa Kola-Awe fro. The Department of Law, with a CGPA of 4.56, Jumoke Gift Jaitu from the Department of Accounting, with a CGPA of 4.51, and Adedapo Israel Toki from the Department of Computer Science, with a CGPA of 4.50.
In attendance were Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele (Visitor and President of C.A.C Nigeria and Overseas), Professor Anthony O. Adegbulugbe (Chancellor), Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan (Pro-Chanchellor/Chairman of Council), Council members, Management members, Senate and other dignitaries.
