By Olayinka Awofadeju

In fulfilment of the promise and commitment to the welfarism of workers and people of the state, the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration in the early hours of today Friday 29th December, 2023 started the payment of palliatives to the entire working force and all retirees in Osun State in the bid to cushion the effect of subsidy removal by the federal government.

While the federal government still finds it hard to pay workers the wage award it promise her workers and some other States in the federation are yet to pay such gesture or make plans for any palliative for their people, the Osun State government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke has kick-started the payment of its own palliatives he promised the state working force and retirees.

Just this December alone, Governor Ademola Adeleke has paid another batch of half-salary owed by previous government in the state, released 2.9bn as bonds to pensioners on the old pension scheme and contributory pensioners scheme, pay salaries and pension for the month of December on-time so that workers can celebrate the yuletide period in good stead, and now topping it up on the last working day of the year with payment of palliatives to both workers and retirees in the state.
