2027 PRESIDENCY: TINUBU HAS CLOSE TO HALF OF PDP
Sam Amadi
The former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and former fellow at the Care Center for Human Rights Policy, Dr. Sam Amadi, has hinted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) might not be able to garner good votes in the 2027 presidential election; as he noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has control of close to half of the party's structure.
Dr. Sam Amadi had said, "The PDP is a party that is grounded, it's like a ship that is on sail, and then grounded somewhere. It's grounded now, it's difficult to see how it can come up but it will come up, it's going to probably play dead brain to the Presidency and fight for other things, but knowing that it has lost the capacity to really put together to fight Tinubu's Presidency. So, what we are going to see going down the light, is that many people in the PDP who would be, who are already the closest member of this G-5, who are sympathizers, who probably will support them, when in the next two, three years, in the next two years, to run down to the 2027 election, you will see that the G-5 is a constellation of all those who oppose Atiku, all those who will support Tinubu, and all those who probably would play dead brain to the political contest. So, it's real, Tinubu has control of half, close to half of PDP."
Amadi, who spoke during an interview on NewsDay, an Arise Television programme, noted that some people who are loyal to the G-5 might also turn against the PDP in the coming years.
