King's Delicacy: Act of Gratitude to God
By Olayinka Awofadeju
As an act of showing gratitude to God for a gift of life and to see another wonderful year alive, Deacon Temitope Ibukunoluwa Daniel Oyetunji(TIDO) and his team has been organizing musical get together called King's Delicacy to appreciate God's kindness every 2nd of January of every year and this year is the eighth one.
King's Delicacy for this year is held at Redeemed Christian Church of God, Emmanuel Model Parish at Tinuke Oyawoye Street, Dada Estate, Osogbo, Osun State. The programme which started by 11:00am with opening prayer from Pastor Awofadeju Peter Olayinka welcomes different choristers from different ministry, including RCCG to praise the Holy name of God.
Apart from praises rendered by choristers, there was display by the instrumentalists, open interaction with TIDO and playlet which had glamour to the programme.
TIDO encouraged people to always show gratitude to God for His wonderful works. Many have died, many in hospitals, prisons, police detention and many are displaced. For us to be alive and in perfect condition, we deserve to render praises to God.
TIDO said he started this ministry since God saved him from the factory accident which almost claimed his fingers and his life in year 2016. He said, while operation was ongoing on his hand, he promised God that if He can save his fingers and hand from being amputated, he will be holding this special Kings Delicacy with God every year.
He said he has his musical team just to be able to sell his dream through them, to them and to have same vision. Using anybody or any musicians may jeopardize the vision. He said, why not making used of church choir as his back up or team, not all choir members are musically gifted or have passion to sing.
He said challenges he has been facing since he started this mission was the acceptance of his musical style which is reggae. He sings at wedding reception, birthday party, burial and other get together, but many pastors in the church prefer normal danceable songs. They don't always appreciate reggae. Secondly, he doesn't flow well with other choristers apart from his team.
TIDO said he is blessed with talents to sing well, play keyboard, lead guitar, play drum set and some other few instruments.
While ministering in the word, Pastor Lekan Ayodele ministered on 'God is hungry'. God is looking praises, God comes down when he is praised well by His people.
In attendance are RCCG Emmanuel Model Parish choristers, RCCG Higher Ground Choir, Deacon Tope Oyetunji's band, Pastor Lekan Ayodele, Pastor Sola Aboderin , Pastor Matthew Alao, Pastor Farounbi, other ministers of God and many others.
