Adeleke is poised to turning Tourist sites in Osun Around, Tourism Board Chairman

Hon. Taiwo Adeleke, Osun State Tourism Board Chairman, has assured the people of Obokun East Local Government Development Authority and it environs, that the present administration in Osun State, under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, is ready to facelift the Tourist sites in the State in order to make them viable sources of revenue generation. 

The Chairman made this known during his visitation to Kiriji war site in Imesi Ile, Obokun Local Government Area of the State.

 While assuring the people of Imesi-ile that the present administration is a lover of Culture and Tourism, the Tourism Board Chairman enjoined them to cooperate with Adeleke's administration to ensure the development of the ancient site.

The Owa Ooye of Imesi-ile, Oba Enoch Ademola Akinyemi, while speaking, stressed that most developed Countries generate their revenue from tourism. He then appealed to the State Government to invest in the development and progress of Kiriji war site, so that tourist far and near can visit the place regularly.

Speaking with newsmen, Chairman Obokun East Local Government Development Authority, Ilare-Ijesha, Mr Adeoti Adekunle, stated that Kiriji war site belongs to all Yoruba's and that the government needs to assist in rehabilitating the road leading to the site for easy access to the site that was established in the year 1846.

Also speaking, the Vice- Chairman, Kiriji Cultural Foundation, Mr Lekan Animasaun noted that Culture and Tourism has become a source of generating internal revenue throughout the world, appealing to Osun Government to come to their aids in developing Kiriji war site. 

The General Manager, Osun State Tourism Board, Mrs Oluwatoyin Ajayi enjoined the people of the Constituency to cooperate with State Government to give the world heritage site the much needed facelift.

The visitation was made with the members of the Tourism Board and the Board Management in conjunction with the management of Obokun Local Government Development Authority, Ilare Ijesha.
