FOLA-ADEBAYO CHARGES COLLEAGUES ON USE OF DIGITAL TEACHING TECHNOLOGIES

Lecturers have been charged to upgrade themselves in the use of Digital learning technologies in their everyday activities in other to remain relevant in the modern day world of teaching.
A university Don, who doubles as the present Head, Mass Communication Department, Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Professor Titi Fola-Adebayo gave this charge at the closing session of a workshop on Facilitating Online organized for a group of selected lecturers at Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) Ikeji Arakeji in Osun State. She stated that technology has taken its place in today's teaching and learning.
The workshop which started in November 2023 gave opportunity to the selected members of the group to be exposed to different social media platforms that can be used to enhance teaching and learning and ways to make use of them effectively, as digital learning technologies remain paramount in today's academic environment.
In his short message, the Dean, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Professor Tokunbo Adaja encouraged all members of the group to make good use of the opportunity and practicalize all they have learnt in other to remain relevant in the system as he also expressed his interest to know more about digital learning technologies.
In their separate remarks, members of the group testified to the fact that the training has affected their teachings positively and improve the quality of their teachings with confidence in the use of online technologies. They however pointed to regular power outage and poor Internet connection as some of the hindrances to effective use of online digital learning technologies.
Dr. Peter Alokan, from the Department of Philosophy and Religious studies appreciated the team leader who doubled as the present Head of Mass Communication Department, Prof. Titi Fola-Adebayo for the great opportunity given to them and also requested that the kind gesture be extended to other members of Academic Staff.
High points of the events are focus group discussion and short interaction to ascertain the success of the training.
