Bad roads during the raining seasons causes delay commuting to school - Uniosun students

By Ibiyemi Aishat Oluwapelumi

Heavy rains have once again highlighted the ongoing issue of poor road conditions at Osun State University Ikire Campus, greatly impacting the movement of students. The dilapidated roads become flooded during the rainy season, making it difficult for students to commute to and from the campus.

The poor road conditions not only cause delays for students trying to attend their classes, but also pose a safety hazard as the flooded roads can become slippery and increase the risk of accidents. Students have been voicing their concerns about the negative impact of the bad roads on their academic performance and overall well-being.

The university administration has acknowledged the issue and stated that efforts are being made to address the situation, but progress has been slow. With the rainy season in full swing, it is crucial that immediate action is taken to improve the road infrastructure at the campus to ensure the safety and convenience of the students.

In addition to the safety hazards and delays caused by the flooding during the rainy season, the poor road conditions at Osun State University Ikire Campus also result in damage to vehicles. Students who commute to the campus face the risk of their vehicles getting stuck in potholes or suffering mechanical issues due to the rough terrain.

It is critical for the university administration to prioritize the repair and maintenance of the roads to ensure the safety, well-being, and academic success of the students. Efforts should be made to swiftly address the issue and implement long-term solutions to prevent further deterioration of the road infrastructure on campus.
