Let's embrace promotion of culture and tourism for the betterment of the world, says Governor Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has called on people of the state to continue to embrace preservation of good cultural heritage, promotion of sustainable tourism practice and celebration of our differences with the sole aim of charting a new course towards a more inclusive, peaceful and prosperous world.

The Governor made the call in Osogbo, the State Capital at the official unveiling of World Art, Culture and Tourism Congress.

Governor Adeleke, who spoke through his Special Adviser on Tourism, Honourable Tope Anjorin-Omitogun, disclosed that the Congress is a testament to the commitment of harnessing the potentials of art, culture and tourism as a catalyst for positive change and global cooperation.

In their separate remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Honourable (Mrs) Bola Ojofeitimi, Chairman, Osun Tourism Board, Hon. Taiwo Adeleke, and Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism, Olatunbosun Rukayat, stressed that the programme, which is to commence on the 29th of October and end on 2nd of November, 2024, aims to explore rare bundles of opportunities cum natural beauty which cultural heritage and tourism offer to travellers from around the globe.

Mrs Oluwatoyin Ajayi, General Manager, Osun State Tourism Board, while appreciating the State government for approving the programme, charged people of Osun not to take the privilege of promoting culture and tourism for granted.

Earlier, In his address of welcome, President, Art Kingdom International Foundation, Dr Abayomi Otukoya explained that despite the numerous unprecedented challenges, adversities and uncertainties facing the Tourism Sector, there lies tremendous potential for revitalization and growth through strategic collaboration and innovative initiative that can greatly help in driving the economic prosperity and sustainable development of the State.

The programme was attended by Ambassador Olawale Awe who represented the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Godwin Odeava, Executive Sectary, Osun State council for Art and culture, Mrs Solape Abolarin as well as the staff and management of Osun State Tourism Board and Council for Art and culture among others. the special adviser to Governor on Tourism, Honourable (Mrs) Bola Ojofeitimi, Chairman, Osun Tourism Board, Hon.
