Osun: Ofatedo PDP receives ADP decampees

Today Sunday 26th May, 2024 at People's Democratic Party Ofatedo meeting venue, several ADP members including their former House of Assembly candidate decamped to PDP.


Among the decampees are Hon. Dare Faniran, Hassan Olasunkanmi Lawal, Adejoke Mariam, Fayemiwo Gbemisola, Adedotun Modinat, Olanihun Mofisat, Abodunde Jumoke, Olajumoke Adewumi and Lawal Olasunkanmi Hassan.

While welcoming them into the People's Democratic Party, the former Chairman of PDP, Egbedore Local Government, Alhaji Oseni Jimoh told them that PDP is not like ADP or APC, he said "we welcome and treat new comers well. Every member have equal chance to grow as over taken is allowed. Your work towards progress of the party will speak for you".

      
Decampees narrated reasons why they took the decision to join People's Democratic Party which include good works of Asiwaju, Senator Jackson Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke in the state within the short time he assumed office 

They expressed internal problem within ADP like selfishness, witch hunting and favouritism within the party. They declared the death of APC and ADP in Osun State and that they can never win any election again.

While ADP Osun State House of Assembly candidate in the last election was talking, he said as promised by the leadership of  PDP, the statewide reception into the PDP will be done soon. He said, they came with those in this town to hand them over to the leadership of the party here in Ofatedo, on Tuesday, they will handover their members decamping into PDP in Ara and Ido-Osun over to the leadership over there.

He made it known that this exercise is done all over Osun State and not limited to Egbedore Local Government alone.

In attendance was SSA to the Osun State Governor in area of politics, Hon. Sunday Oyeyemi who came to represent Hon. Bamidele Salam, Honourable member representing Egbedore/Ede South/Ede North/Ejigbo Local Governments in House of Representative to receive the decampees. After receiving the decampees, he delivered N50,000 and two bags of rice which Hon. Bamidele Salam asked him to give the meeting.

Also, at the meeting was Mr. Atoyebi Bashiru Adewale, Media Aide to Hon. Rotimi Ogunrinade, Honourable member, Osun State House of Assembly, representing Egbedore Local Government, he bought soft drinks for all the members at the meeting.
