Osun 2025 LG Election: Time to Reward Egbedore Ward 10 to Produce Chairman - Dr. Awofadeju

According to elders, "life is about give and take". This saying is applicable to the politics and coming local government election in Osun State.

During a chat between Oduduwa Media and People Democratic Party Chieftain, AWOFADEJU Peter Olayinka, PhD about the agitation of chairmanship aspirants within Egbedore Local Government on the social media about who is capable and qualified to represent the local government, he said politics should be about rub my back and I rub your back. Egbedore Ward 10 has always been supporting other nine wards within the local government to win elections or for one position and another.

While talking, he enunciated contributions of ward 10 which is Ofatedo, Olorunsogo and Okinni in the development of the local government and the state at large.

During the last governorship election in Osun State, ward 10 performed wonderfully which contributed to the victory of our dear governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke. Only ward 10 garner total of five thousand, seven hundred and fifty nine votes (5,759), while ward one to ward nine had total of seven thousand, six hundred and eighty four (7,684).

Last governorship election results at Egbedore Local Government

The only candidate from ward 10 is from Ofatedo area who was the last Egbedore South LCDA caretaker Chairman. Hon. Adeleke Sakiru Adeolu performed wonderfully among the three caretaker chairmen within the local government when they were appointed to paddle the ship of the councils. Hon. Adeleke Sakiru Adeolu coordinated his LCDA (Egbedore South LCDA) well and he organized these under listed programmes within the short time that he was in office:

A. He conducted a free medical outreach at Ofatedo Health Centre and distributed free medications to over 700 people of Egbedore South, including 26 surgeries.

This includes the Grading of roads starting from Egbedi Community, Kuse Community, Onibueja Community, Aduramigba Community, Ayoolorun Community, Origo Community, Halleluyah Community, Akinolawuyi Street Baale Area Dada Estate, Adetunji Community, Olobedu Community Ayekale, Osogbo, and Moki Enikan Community Ido Osun, thereby improving accessibility and ensuring the safety of residents.

4. Refurbishment of the motor grader and Toyota Camry at the Council.

6. Support given to Oke Ibukun Community in purchasing a new cable for the 500kva Transformer.

7. Support given to Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) and Community Development Council (CDC) of Egbedore South LCDA, with some amount of money.

In the spirit of fairness, respect and courtesy, leaders in the local government need to work together in favour of ward 10 producing chairmanship candidate at this time. Since year 1999, from ward one to ward nine had held different positions like chairman, Osun State House of Assembly, House of Representative, Commissioners, LGEA etc. ward 10 had never been opportune to represent the local government at the local, state or federal level till date.

For progress and tranquility, Dr. Awofadeju pleaded with the People's Democratic Party leaders at Egbedore Local Government to put heads together and favour ward 10 to present 2025 chairmanship candidate.

He prayed for the peace and smooth running of the party and victory of the party at the pole come February 25th, 2025.
