Osun State 2025 LG Election: PDP Members Urge Party Leaders to do the Right Thing

As local government election in Osun State is just at the door step, political members and the interested aspirants have been agitating over who is qualified to lead at the local government level. Social media platforms are decorated with People's Democratic Party Chairmen and Councillors posters and campaigns.

Due to this development, PDP leaders and youths from Ofatedo, ward 10 in Egbedore Local Government are urging the leaders who are at the helm of affairs to decide who to lead the local government to choose wisely.

Mr. Jimoh Lukuman, member of People's Democratic Party, youth wing from Ofatedo, ward 10 said that they are pleading with the party leadership to be objective and stand with their promise made before the election. They have promised that election outcome will dictate positions sharing formula. But no political position zoned to Ofatedo with their performance during the last governorship election in Osun State.

He presented last governorship election results to speak for itself. People who lost their polling units now coming on social media to contest with the ward that won all its polling units. What effort did they put into the campaign to win their polling units before and during the election? Politics shouldn't be sub structure building super structure. Ofatedo and ward 10 generally can't be working for other wards to be benefitting the efforts.

Breakdown of governorship votes at Egbedore Local Government 



While talking, he said House of Representative came from Awo, State House of Assembly came from Iragberi while Commissioner came from Ara, only ward nine (9) and ward ten (10) were neglected in political position sharing.

Corroborating this, Hon. Taofeek, the former Vice Chairman, Egbedore Local Government said the right ward and town to be compensated with the position of local government Chairman is Ofatedo. looking at the antecedents, Ofatedo has never loose any polling units since inception and has been leading in the votes in Egbedore Local Government. Ofatedo's vote has always contributed greatly in deciding who wins or lose election in this local government.

He cited elections before Senator Ademola Adeleke' s election to his own time too, Ofatedo has been performing wonderfully to ensure victory at the poll for governor's and the other candidates from the party.

He reiterated that Ofatedo has never been practicing anti-party from the beginning, with this, for smooth running of the party and to make the youths and adults of the party from this side happy and to have something tangible to use to campaign in 2026 for voters to be able to bring in to office our governor for the second term, leaders should do the right thing.

14th Convocation Ceremony: JABU Graduates 467 Students

Vice Chancellor, Professor Olaosebikan Fakolujo that the University graduated 467 students while 23 finished with first class, 205 finished with second class upper, 172 finished with second class lower and others are within third class to pass. The overall best graduating student for the academic session was Mary Ayobayo from Computer Science. She graduated with 4.89, which is a step better than the last best graduating student who finished with 4.87.
