Distribution of Fertilizers: Awofadeju Urges Youths to Invest in Farming

Dr. Awofadeju Peter Olayinka, a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, founder of Oduduwa Media, Progressive Youth Forum and chairman, God's Provision Farmers Association, distributed fertilizer to farmers during a meeting on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Oloyede Street, Dada Estate, Egbedore Local Government, Osun State.

Dr. Awofadeju commended Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, honorable representing Egbedore, Ede North, Ede South, Ejigbo at House of Representative, Hon. Bamidele Salam and honourable representing Egbedore local government at House of Assembly, Hon. Rotimi Ogunrinade, for sharing fertilizers from the federal government with farmers in the state. Inspired by their example, Dr. Awofadeju shared bags of fertilizer received with his followers in the farmers association.

He encouraged the youths to invest in farming, regardless of their certificates or positions, to feed the nation and sustain themselves during the dry season.

He emphasized that white-collar jobs have become scarce, and youths should focus on how they can contribute to the growth and development of their nation, state, and family, especially during these challenging economic times. 

He encouraged them to think creatively and explore opportunities beyond traditional employment, such as entrepreneurship, agriculture, and innovation, to make a positive impact and secure their future.

Dr. Awofadeju also advised members to use the fertilizer effectively and extend goodwill to others, saying, "One hand can lift another, and soon everyone will be able to stand on their own."

In their different reactions, Mr. Ogundeji James, Mrs. Adeleke Grace and Mr. Ossai  appreciated Dr. Awofadeju's gesture and promised to invest more in farming, encouraging others to join the farmers association, citing Dr. Awofadeju as a good leader who inspires dependence.

14th Convocation Ceremony: JABU Graduates 467 Students

 By Olayinka Awofadeju At Joseph Ayo Babalola University Vice Chancellor's press conference held on 4th December, 2023 at the Senate Chamber. Vice Chancellor, Professor Olaosebikan Fakolujo that the University graduated 467 students while 23 finished with first class, 205 finished with second class upper, 172 finished with second class lower and others are within third class to pass. The overall best graduating student for the academic session was Mary Ayobayo from Computer Science. She graduated with 4.89, which is a step better than the last best graduating student who finished with 4.87. While speaking, VC made it known that the school equally graduated 12 PhD students in 2022/2023 academic session.
