Governor Adeleke is a youth lover; expect more empowerment - SA YOUTH

It was a massive turn out of youth in Osun state today during Osun youth town hall dialogue put together by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State, the event had in attendance representative of over 40 organisations as well as major youth stakeholders in attendance. The event which took place at NUJ Hall in the early hour of today, Saturday 16th November had different youth leaders who have served the National Youth Council of Nigeria Osun State chapter in attendance. During the discussion, issues bordering on youth development, empowerment, engagement, Skills, Technology, policies and politics as well as education was the highlight of the conversation.

In the address by the Special Assistant to the executive Governor of Osun State on Youth Mobilisation, Hon Segun Oyewale eulogised the Governor Ademola Adeleke for having the concern of the youth at heart through various appointment and empowerment in the ministry, he said the Governor love for the youth know no bound and is ready for more employment and empowerment of the youth. Hon Segun Oyewale encouraged the youth present at the town hall that more is coming from the government in terms of intervention and programmes for the youth.

He assured of speedy commencement of some of the programs of the government before the year runs out, he further highlighted the appointment of many youth into the cabinet of Governor Ademola Adeleke as key to the interest of the Governor towards the youth.

 However, a youth Journalist and member of the panelist com. Jare Tiamiyu encouraged the youth to speak the truth at all times irrespective of the name anyone will call them. He further said that many youth given appointment didn't know the importance of the appointment, as many are not using it for the betterment of the people in the community. He stated that an health centre in irepodun local government has been neglected and still at the call of the government for proper attention, he reiterated that such health facility in bad state serving tow main communities has not been attended to, instead the political office holder lies about the awkward state of the facility.He encouraged the youth to always speak out irrespective of what surround them. He further encourage youth to take responsibility and not shy away from the reality.

The Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria in Osun state Com. Adetunji Ajala employed the youth to be a partner in the Osun project irrespective of their background and affiliation. Com Abisola Ariwodola in her word encouraged women to think of what they can do to be self independent likewise participating in programs that will transform them for the betterment of the society. She further encouraged the youth to take advantage of the techub in the state for their advancement.

The decoration of the past leaders of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Osun state was applauded by the youth present at the town hall .

In the address by the immediate past Chairman, Com. Abdulazeez Ismail, he encouraged the leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria Osun state under the leadership of com. Adetunji Ajala not to be distracted by attention seeker but organize more programmes that will empower the youth of the state.

The communique of the town hall dialogue would be sent to relevant state and non state actors for proper implementation, Com. Adetunji Ajala assured.

14th Convocation Ceremony: JABU Graduates 467 Students

 By Olayinka Awofadeju At Joseph Ayo Babalola University Vice Chancellor's press conference held on 4th December, 2023 at the Senate Chamber. Vice Chancellor, Professor Olaosebikan Fakolujo that the University graduated 467 students while 23 finished with first class, 205 finished with second class upper, 172 finished with second class lower and others are within third class to pass. The overall best graduating student for the academic session was Mary Ayobayo from Computer Science. She graduated with 4.89, which is a step better than the last best graduating student who finished with 4.87.
