Osun LG Polls: PDP Egbedore Local Government Campaign Train Visits Ikotun and Iragberi Wards as Numerous APC Members Officially Defect to PDP

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Egbedore Local Government moved its campaign train to Ikotun and Iragberi in preparation for the upcoming Local Government elections scheduled for February 22, 2025. Members of the various wards warmly welcomed the PDP Egbedore structure to their communities.
The Director General of the Campaign Committee, Hon. Shakiru Adeleke Shakur, in his address, expressed gratitude to the PDP members in each ward for their overwhelming support of the party's chairmanship candidate and running mate. He urged members to come out in large numbers on February 22 to cast their votes for the PDP candidates, assuring them that the PDP would not disappoint. He further noted that this Local Government election serves as a preparatory step for future elections in the state, particularly the re-election of His Excellency, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State.
During the event, numerous members of the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), officially defected to the PDP, symbolically "dropping the broom and picking the umbrella." The notable leaders who defected include:

In their speeches, the defectors cited the transformative leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke and the commendable performance of PDP representatives at both federal and state levels as their reasons for joining the PDP. In a symbolic gesture, the Egbedore Local Government PDP Chairman, Alhaji Sulaimon Adebayo, on behalf of the Osun State PDP Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, presented PDP flags to the new members.
The PDP Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Sanya Okunade Olori, pledged to deliver on his five-point agenda, which includes: Empowerment and employment opportunities. Quality basic education. Improved healthcare. Agricultural improvement and food security. Infrastructure development.
Hon. Olori assured the people that these programs would bring progress and a new dawn to Egbedore Local Government. He urged residents to come out in large numbers on election day to vote for the PDP and emphasized the need for continued support for the current state administration led by Governor Ademola Adeleke. Highlighting the achievements of the administration over the past two years, he called on voters to ensure continuity of good governance.
The event was graced by notable personalities, including Alhaja Atinuke Oyawoye and High Chief Kolade Adeleke, alongside numerous PDP leaders in Egbedore Local Government.
