Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, stated that since assuming office in 2022, his administration has prioritised the enhancement of infrastructural amenities and the promotion of transparency in governance.

The governor, who listed other priorities of his government to include ease of doing business and the right policies, said these priorities were set to attract and protect investors coming into the state.

He made the statement in Osogbo on Wednesday at the Osun State Dinner and Industrial Investment Roundtable organised by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, who read his speech, Adeleke expressed determination to make the state a preferred destination for investment in agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, technology, and renewable energy.

“I am deeply committed to realising a vibrant and prosperous Osun State. This roundtable reflects our shared vision to build on the progress of our administration and sustain the momentum of growth and development across all sectors “’.

“Our government recognises that sustainable development can only be achieved through meaningful collaboration between the public and private sectors. We have therefore prioritised creating an enabling environment through improved infrastructure, transparent governance, ease of doing business, and policies that attract and protect investors.”

“Osun is open for business, and we are determined to make it a preferred destination for investment in agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, technology, and renewable energy,” he said.

“He said his administration would intensify efforts to harness the state’s abundant natural resources and human capital to drive inclusive growth.”

He added, “Through strategic partnerships and targeted incentives, we will continue to support small and medium-scale enterprises, promote local content, and ensure that our youth are equipped with the skills and opportunities to thrive in an evolving economy.

“By seizing this moment to forge transformative partnerships that will uplift our state, we are laying the foundation for a future of sustainable growth and opportunity for all our people.”

In his remarks, the State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr Bunmi Jenyo, described the summit as a direct continuation of the successes recorded during last year’s Industrial Investment Summit.

“This roundtable is a product of the bold vision and leadership of His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, whose commitment to repositioning Osun as a centre of commerce, industry, and economic excellence in Southwest Nigeria continues to inspire us all,” Jenyo stated.

He further explained that the roundtable represents a decisive step towards ensuring that Osun evolves from being a supplier of raw materials to becoming a hub for value addition, manufacturing, and global competitiveness.
