Osun State 2026 Guber: Dr. Najeem Folasayo Salaam Wins ADC Governorship Ticket

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is pleased to officially announce that Dr. Najeem Folasayo Salaam IWALOYE, former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, has emerged as the ADC flagbearer and governorship candidate for the August 8, 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.

At the gubernatorial primary election held today in Osogbo, Dr. Salaam secured a commanding 520 out of 528 valid votes cast by accredited party delegates, with only eight ballots declared invalid. The primary, conducted in line with the ADC constitution and supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), demonstrated the party’s commitment to democratic practice and internal transparency. 

Speaking after his victory, Dr. Salaam expressed humility and readiness to serve the people of Osun State. He underscored that his candidature is rooted in a deep sense of service, conscience, and commitment to an inclusive, purposeful governance that departs from punitive politics and prioritizes the well-being of ordinary citizens.
