Osun political climate changes, APC is taking over
By Olayinka Awofadeju
Moving closer to the election, Osun political climate has started experiencing changes has All Progressive Congress (APC) members have started engaging the dwellers of the state to get there votes.
The strategical move of APC members is from street to street to propagate the mission and vision of their flag bearer in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) to all prospective electorates to vote for APC in the coming election.
Part of what they have been selling to the people is the negligence and deficiencies of the present government led by governor Ademola Adeleke.
"Governor Ademola Adeleke's government is not a youths friendly administration, for more than three years and close to the end of his tenure, there has been no employment. Apart from this, tuition fees at the various public institutions have been increased which makes it difficult for the youths and their parents to afford.
While engaging their administration, they always referring to the seized local government funds by the federal government. But where is their administration seeing money to construct bridges, tarring road and dualizing all roads leading to Ede town and selective dualization in other towns?
This shows that according to scale of preference, road and Bridges construction could fetch their administration more profit than engaging the masses which there can't be any returns from payment of salaries.
Alhaji Oyetola employed teachers after he has lost the election to governor Ademola Adeleke, he empowered thousands of youths in Osun Youths Empowerment Schemes (OYES), engaged many to work at health centers before leaving the office, at the emergence of this administration, all these who were engaged by APC/Oyetola were downsized.
If APC didn't do it well, what has governor Ademola Adeleke done better in terms of building lives?
The youths he increased their tuition fee can't be employed by the same government who made lives difficult for them when they were in school, instead of engaging the youths, he preferred to renew the appointment of the retired teachers.
He disengaged OYES engaged by the APC to be replaced by IMOLE CORPS which was only given to the PDP Executive members, same set of people who benefit all the empowerment programme within their party. Then, what's the hope of the youths under their party (PDP/ACCORD)?
According to Mrs. Akinwumi, director, primary health care, Egbedore local government while receiving donations from the Prime Youths Forums which was supported by APC today requested for voluntary workers or for community to engage staff for them. She emphasized that they don't have staff and this has been affecting their shift work. She mentioned many villages that it has been their monarchs or communities employing ad-hoc staff for them.
If lives of the Osun people matter to this administration, why not employ to make lives better? Either Oyetola employed at the wrong or right time, he employed people of this same state and not from Lagos, why disengaging them?
The only application requested for from this administration, interview was conducted over two years ago, until Hon. Wole Oke threatened the state government before governor Ademola Adeleke announced that appointment letter would be released to them. Till now, Osun people are still in the waiting room to see the appointment letter."
Osun people are not voting for APC as PDP/Accord has been campaigning against the party, but people are voting for personality which is Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).
The civil servants have exonerated him that he is a kind person, his government would be better. He also said at a consultation meeting that Osun APC has learnt their lesson, they know where they made mistakes and it will not repeat itself again.
