PENALTY WITHOUT A GOALKEEPER ? HISTORY SAYS OTHERWI

When AMBO of the APC boasts that he wo

uld “win Osun by August 8 next year because it will be a penalty without a goalkeeper,” he forgets one simple truth - an idea whose time has not come can never materialise.

History is full of missed “open goals.

AMBO needs to be reminded of Yakubu Aiyegbeni’s famous miss at the 2010 World Cup against South Korea — an empty net, a clear chance. Yet, Nigeria failed to qualify. That single moment teaches us that *even open goals can be missed.

Football is full of such stories.

Great players miss penalties.

Top strikers fluff open chances.

Nothing is guaranteed — not even when the goalkeeper is already beaten.

In Osun politics, we have seen this too.

AMBO should be taken down the history lane. Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola was handed a penalty without a goalkeeper. He inherited everything Rauf Aregbesola built — political structure, goodwill, and power: the Governorship intact, 2 of 3 Senate seats, 6 of 9 House of Representatives, 22 of 26 House of Assembly seats, all Local Government chairmen, and several political appointments. Yet, he still managed to lose it all. He was in the best possible position — still failed.

The statement coming from a candidate who couldn't face primary election in his party, APC, but had to rely on his godfather to machinate system to disqualify other aspirants for him to emerge. AMBO simply made an empty-goal arrogance.

If he needs a better football lesson, let him remember the “Miracle of Dammam” in 1989, when Nigeria’s Flying Eagles came back from an impossible position against Algeria, scoring four goals in 20 minutes before winning on penalties. The whole world was stunned!

That is exactly how ADC and Rt. Hon. Dr. Najeem Salam Folasayo Iwaloye will shock Osun and Nigeria — not by arrogance, but by the will of the people.

The good people of Osun will not be tricked by empty slogans.

They will vote carefully, vote consciously, vote for real change that will better their lives.

And when they do, the so-called “penalty without a goalkeeper” will become another historic miss.

History is not on the side of arrogance — it is on the side of the people. Finally, we appeal to the good people of Osun to stand with us. ADC needs your votes, your voices, and your courage.
