Selective Attention in Governance by Governor Ademola Adeleke - 2017 Retirees

Several issues are coming out when August 8th, 2026 governorship election is drawing nearer. One of the December 2017 retirees who spoke under anonymity cleared air on the payment of the retirees, he claimed that Governor Ademola Adeleke has neglected retirees who retired in the year 2017 till date. 

According to him, they have contacted the commissioner for information, Hon. Kolapo Alimi over the matter, but his response degenerated into another issue as he claimed that local government fund seized by the federal government was the cause of the non payment of their funds.

The group said "if that was the cause, where is the administration seeing money used in roads and bridges construction? Should a father tell the children to wait till he complete his house building before he pays their tuition fees?"

The affected are teachers from both primary and secondary schools and other civil servants who retired that year (2017).

They emphasized that "government only focus on the active workers (Civil Servants) forgetting that those active workers will also retire and may probably be experiencing same challenge they are facing presently.

According to him,  many of their colleagues have died due to lack of funds to take good care of themselves as their money has not been paid till date. He said, will this same administration be expecting them to repeat their votes for Governor Ademola Adeleke in this coming Governorship election?

Another person equally exposed what he perceived going on in University of Ilesa, Dr. Bankole claimed that people from Ede town are being employed in large numbers while people from other towns would be advised to seek assistance from a strong politician before they can be absolved.

In the opinion of these people, they claimed that there is selective attention in this government and they are calling on the state government to kindly make a necessary amendment before it is too late.
