UNIOFFA matriculates 350 students for 2025/2026 academic session

University of Offa, Kwara State, on wednesday matriculated a total of 350 undergraduate students for the 2025/2026 academic session at the 4th matriculation ceremony.
Speaking during the matriculation ceremony at the permanent site of the institution in Offa, the Vice Chancellor ,Professor. Kazeem
Alagbe Gbolagade, said that over 400 candidates applied for admission in the current academic session.
A total of 350 candidates were offered admission into the degree programmes, while over 100 candidates were also denied.
.Prof Gbolagade who described the admission process as highly competitive, advised the matriculants not to take their admission for granted or treat it with levity.
“This success of yours should not be short-lived. You must do everything humanly possible to defend your current champion status,” he said.
Prof. Kazeem stressed further that , students were admitted into various programmes in the faculties comprises of Faculty of Managenent and Scoial Sciences , Faculty of Education and Faculty of Science and Computing .
The Vice Chancellor , who stated that school is not a scam, “as some naysayers would have you believe,” added that the essence of education is not merely certification but lies in a deeper passion for excellence.

The mantra of my administration is centre on five point agenda of "Transforming University of Offa into a financially sustainable institution , make it IT Driven/Paperless University , Improved welfare packages , Conducive Learning Environment and Promotion of Policy – Oriented Research and Collaboration with Industries with the total support and commitment of appropriate stakeholders to this vision
UNIOFFA remains a critical driver of growth in infrastructure, human capital development, innovative research, entrepreneurship, enhanced community impact, staff and student welfare, improved accreditation, and institutional ranking.
“We are intentional and strategic in this approach, conscientiously creating opportunities you can tap into during your time here. Through the establishment of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Studies (CES), we have introduced programmes that will add value and enable you to graduate with practical skills beyond academic degrees,” he said.
He stressed further " we have started working towards achieving this goal through our partnership with New Horizon, a US based IT company having
branches in over 270 countries, we are partnering with High Stone University in
America, International University of Malaysia, etc. In addition, our
entrepreneurship model is top-notch.
The Vice Chancellor noted that, today’s event marks the end of the 2025/2026 admissions processes of the
University and the beginning of academic sojourn for our new set of intakes who
have successfully fulfilled the academic requirements for entrance into their
various choices of disciplines. "
He implored the students to rigorously commit themselves to outstanding and purposeful
academic pursuits as this will also prevent them in lossing their studentship at University of
Offa. He emphasied " Let me inform you that any student who at the end of the session has less
than 1.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) will be shown the way out of
the University.
Prof. Kazeem asserted that the University has zero tolerance for all acts of misconduct
within and outside its campus which include improper dressing, cultism,
examination malpractices, violent demonstrations, membership of unregistered
associations on campus, theft, armed robbery, fighting and other civil disturbances
that can hinder smooth academic running of the University. He therefore
enjoined the matriculants to familiarize themselves with the code of conduct for students and other
existing rules and regulations of the University.
