GOVERNOR ADELEKE CONGRATULATES NEW LEADERSHIP OF THE OSUN NUJ

In a released through the spokesperson to Osun State government, Mallam Rasheed Olawale,  the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has congratulated Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin on his election as the Chairman of the Osun state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists.

Governor Adeleke who also congratulated other officers of the union elected at the just concluded congress, said the choices reflective in the new leadership affirms the Osun NUJ long-standing culture of capacity over any other considerations.

While acknowledging the rich background and experience of Comrade Aboderin and his team to sustain the faith of the public in the NUJ, Governor Adeleke assures the body of journalists of his administration's support and partnership in the discharge of their roles in a democracy.

"I am pleased to congratulate Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin on his election as the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists in Osun State. Comrade Aboderin's deep experience in journalism and the choice of his executive committee is assuring that the Osun NUJ will continue to play its pivotal role in deepening our democracy," Governor Adeleke was quoted as saying in a congratulatory message.

Governor Adeleke tasks the new leadership of the NUJ to uphold professionalism among its members, especially as the state approached a crucial off-season election, urging the union to internalise processes that will enhance citizens right to fair and balanced reportage.

The Governor reiterates his administration's commitment to safeguarding the rights of journalists in line with the laws, saying that he will continue to work with every segment of the society, including the NUJ, to move Osun state forward.

Osun NUJ Inaugurates Exco for Federated Chapel

The inauguration took place on 3rd September, 2025 at NUJ Press Center , Osogbo . Dr. Peter Olayinka AWOFADEJU was sworn in as the Chairman of the chapel, along with Mr. Oyewole Temitope as Secretary. While inaugurating the new Exco members, the Council Secretary declared that, "as directed by the state council due to the prevailing circumstances surrounding the change of power in the chapel, only the Chairman, Dr. Peter Olayinka AWOFADEJU and the Secretary, Mr. Oyewole Temitope obtained nomination forms to their offices since about eight months ago when the outgone exco had been desolved and the NUJECO credentials committee headed by Dr. Simon Oladimeji Pinheiro was put in place."
