OSUN NUJ RAMADAN LECTURE 2026.

The annual Ramadan Lecture of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Osun State Council holds tomorrow in the afternoon.

A statement issued by the Chairman,Planning Committee for the lecture,Alh.Moshood Suleiman indicates that the Baba Adinni of Osun state,Alh.Fatai Kolawole is the Chairman of the occasion while the Royal Father's of the Day are the Olororuwo of Ororuwo, Oba Adeyemi Adeyanju,the Alabeere of Abeere,Oba Mutallib Adefemi Adelakin,Abiade II, the Alagunbeelewo of Agunbeelewo ,Oba Maroof Olayiwola Lawal,the Onijaekun I.

Venue is the state Secretariat of NUJ,near Government Technical College,along Iwo- Ibadan road,Osogbo as from 4 o'clock in the evening.

A renowned young international cleric, Sheik Gaosu Shabaab is the Guest Speaker who will talk on a thought provoking topic ; Islam and refinement of character before,during and after the holy month of Ramadan.

The programme which will have the state chairman of Osun state Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists,Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin as the Chief Host will also feature other spiritually inspiring side attractions like recitation of the holy Quran, quiz competitions and breaking of Iftar by the invited guests .

Bandits on Monday night invaded Ora Igbomina in Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun State , unleashing terror on residents and travellers in the community.  The attackers reportedly stormed Akisa Road in Ora, where they kidnapped a former Customs officer, Prince Owolabi , from his residence.  The invasion threw the town into panic as gunshots rang out during the operation. Chief Pinheiro Resigns from People's Democratic Party

 By Oduduwa Media  Otunba Oladimeji Pinheiro, PhD, released his resignation letter from the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Ward 06, Imesi-Ile, Obokun local government, Osun State which took effect from 4th May, 2025. His decision according to him are internal politicking, and intrigues ahead of next general election, personal interest and power play which has become order of the day without no hope of amicably resolution. He said he was convinced that the party has lost control of its direction and philosophy of the establishment which has made the internal political rancor more worsen which he presumed that the leadership of the party has failed to handle with utmost expected actions. Osun NUJ Inaugurates Exco for Federated Chapel

 By Seun Omidiran  The Osun State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists has inaugurated the new executive for Federated Chapel of the state . The inauguration took place on 3rd September, 2025 at NUJ Press Center , Osogbo . Dr. Peter Olayinka AWOFADEJU was sworn in as the Chairman of the chapel, along with Mr. Oyewole Temitope as Secretary. While inaugurating the new Exco members, the Council Secretary declared that, "as directed by the state council due to the prevailing circumstances surrounding the change of power in the chapel, only the Chairman, Dr. Peter Olayinka AWOFADEJU and the Secretary, Mr. Oyewole Temitope obtained nomination forms to their offices since about eight months ago when the outgone exco had been desolved and the NUJECO credentials committee headed by Dr. Simon Oladimeji Pinheiro was put in place."
