OSUN NUJ/LENTEN LECTURE

The maiden edition of Osun State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Lenten Lecture will hold tomorrow afternoon (24/03/2026) at the NUJ Press Centre, Iwo-Ibadan Road, Osogbo. 

A statement by the chairman organising committee Adeniyi Kehinde and the secretary Olusola Egbedofo indicates that Bishop Mike Bamidele of Victory Chapel International is expected to be the guest lecturer, and will be speaking on the topic "Maximising the Blessings of Fasting".

 The event is expected to attract prominent individuals and NUJ members from across Osun State, with Chairman Osun NUJ Council Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin and other executive members in attendance.

 The Choir "Grace Bible Mission, Oke-Onitii, Osogbo will also minister in songs among other activities.

Bandits on Monday night invaded Ora Igbomina in Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun State , unleashing terror on residents and travellers in the community.  The attackers reportedly stormed Akisa Road in Ora, where they kidnapped a former Customs officer, Prince Owolabi , from his residence.  The invasion threw the town into panic as gunshots rang out during the operation. Chief Pinheiro Resigns from People's Democratic Party

 By Oduduwa Media  Otunba Oladimeji Pinheiro, PhD, released his resignation letter from the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Ward 06, Imesi-Ile, Obokun local government, Osun State which took effect from 4th May, 2025. His decision according to him are internal politicking, and intrigues ahead of next general election, personal interest and power play which has become order of the day without no hope of amicably resolution. He said he was convinced that the party has lost control of its direction and philosophy of the establishment which has made the internal political rancor more worsen which he presumed that the leadership of the party has failed to handle with utmost expected actions. Osun NUJ Inaugurates Exco for Federated Chapel

 By Seun Omidiran  The Osun State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists has inaugurated the new executive for Federated Chapel of the state . The inauguration took place on 3rd September, 2025 at NUJ Press Center , Osogbo . Dr. Peter Olayinka AWOFADEJU was sworn in as the Chairman of the chapel, along with Mr. Oyewole Temitope as Secretary. While inaugurating the new Exco members, the Council Secretary declared that, "as directed by the state council due to the prevailing circumstances surrounding the change of power in the chapel, only the Chairman, Dr. Peter Olayinka AWOFADEJU and the Secretary, Mr. Oyewole Temitope obtained nomination forms to their offices since about eight months ago when the outgone exco had been desolved and the NUJECO credentials committee headed by Dr. Simon Oladimeji Pinheiro was put in place."
