Osun NUJ Felicitates Christians, Calls for Unity and Responsible Leadership at Easter

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council, has extended Easter greetings to Christian faithful in the state, urging Nigerians to embrace the virtues of love, sacrifice, and unity as symbolized by the season.

This is according to a statement issued by the Chairman, Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin and the Secretary, Comrade Olalekan Akindoju, to mark the Easter celebration.

The Council described the occasion as a period that reflects hope, renewal, and the triumph of good over evil. 

It noted that the significance of Easter goes beyond religious observance, calling on citizens to imbibe the values of selflessness, humility, and tolerance exemplified by Jesus Christ.

The NUJ Osun Council also called on leaders at all levels of government to reflect on the true essence of the season by prioritizing good governance, justice, and the welfare of the people. 

It stressed that in the face of prevailing socio-economic and security challenges, the message of hope associated with Easter should inspire collective efforts toward national unity and sustainable development.

The Council further charged media professionals to uphold the ethics of journalism by promoting truth, fairness, and responsible reporting. 

It emphasized the critical role of the media in fostering peace and strengthening national cohesion.

While wishing residents of Osun State a joyful celebration, the NUJ encouraged the public to celebrate responsibly and extend kindness to the less privileged.

The Council expressed hope that the blessings of Easter would renew the spirit of Nigerians and guide the nation toward peace, progress, and prosperity.

Osun NUJ Inaugurates Exco for Federated Chapel

The inauguration took place on 3rd September, 2025 at NUJ Press Center , Osogbo . Dr. Peter Olayinka AWOFADEJU was sworn in as the Chairman of the chapel, along with Mr. Oyewole Temitope as Secretary. While inaugurating the new Exco members, the Council Secretary declared that, "as directed by the state council due to the prevailing circumstances surrounding the change of power in the chapel, only the Chairman, Dr. Peter Olayinka AWOFADEJU and the Secretary, Mr. Oyewole Temitope obtained nomination forms to their offices since about eight months ago when the outgone exco had been desolved and the NUJECO credentials committee headed by Dr. Simon Oladimeji Pinheiro was put in place."
