Road approved but abandoned: 2026 governorship election, we will vote where solutions can come
Dwellers of Olojabala, Irepodun, Gbidigbi to Owode-Ede lamented abandoning of their road from Osunjela that leads to Owode-Ede/Osu Express road which has been approved since 2024. They remembered the road especially this week when there was traffic from Ilesa Garage to Osunjela, they complained that if their road had been constructed, it would have served as alternative route.
Apart from that, farmers are facing difficulties during this raining season as the condition of the road has gone from bad to worst. Transportation fare from the Osunjela junction has increased because of the condition of the road.
While speaking, Mr. Ilesanmi one of the dwellers of Olojabala said, Osun State government has diverted their road which was approved since 2024 to another place because their road is not at the main town. He claimed that they went to Abere to confirm the approval then, but nothing was done on the road till now.
Another person who spoke with our media Mr. Aina who lives at Irepodun said the communities are at liberty to cast their votes for whosoever constructed their road. He also said that they wrote to the ministry of education concerning their dilapidated school building, nothing was done. This election, everyone should be at liberty to vote where solution to their challenges can come.
If only roads and schools at the main towns could be constructed and renovated, those at the main towns should cast their votes for the present government. Enough of begging government to do their duties, we voted for them, what do we have in return?
The spoke person for the communities, Dr. Peter Olayinka AWOFADEJU spoke with the leaders and dwellers of the communities to exercise patience that before election, Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is known as Mr. Talk and do will surely come to their rescue.
While speaking with our media, Awofadeju pleaded with the state government not to forget this road which has been approved since 2024 and the community school at Irepodun which has been serving these communities, letters had been submitted for its renovations severally to the ministry of works which there has been no response.
