K-RAD CANVASSES FOR MORE INVESTMENT IN AGRICULTURE

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Osun Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general electiion, Mr.Kunle Rasheed Adegoke SAN,says agriculture would be one of the priorities of the All Progressives Congress-led government in Osun State if the party's governorship candidate in the 2026 Osun Governorship election,Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji AMBO, emerges victorious.

Adegoke, who disclosed this on Friday while. featuring on "Guest Platform",an engagement programme of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Osun State Council, expressed confidence in the party's chances at poll.

According to him, there's the need for governor's to make deliberate investments in agriculture, noting that many fertile lands across the country remains underutilised despite their economic potentials.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria stressed the need for governments to create policies that will encourage partnership between land-owning families and private investors to maximise agricultural production and economic growth.

Adegoke urged governments to facilitate synergy between investors and landowners by helping families to properly identify and document their lands through affordable surveys and free Certificate of Occupancy, noting that many families lack proper title documents to their lands thereby making it difficult for them to access loans or effectively utilise their properties for economic development.

The All Progressives Congress chieftain discouraged outright sales of ancestral lands, saying land ownership in Africa should remain a generational inheritance preserved for future generations.

He proposed a tripartite arrangement involving governments, investors and landowners where investors would utilise the land for farming while landowners retain ownership and receive  agreed benefits from proceeds generated on the land.

He advocates for reviving of. abandoned agricultural assets including Old Government Farms Settlements, which he noted have become hideouts for criminals, adding that agricultural investments would create jobs for residents, improve internally generated revenue and reduce criminal activities.

Speaking on reported disagreements within the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Adegoke dismissed the concerns over current resignations and internal frictions, assuring that the party remained united ahead of the governorship election, maintaining that the party intact and expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious in the election.
