Nigeria Enforces Comprehensive Ban on 'Ghana Must Go' Bags Across All Airports
By Praise John
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has implemented a ban on the utilization of 'Ghana Must Go' sacks by passengers across all airports in the nation. In an official circular titled 'Re: Prohibition of Usage Of Ghana Must Go,' signed by Henok Gizachew, the Manager of Airport Services, FAAN emphasizes the prohibition specifically for passengers traveling through international airports.
Gizachew underscores the authority's decision to ban the sack, citing significant losses incurred by airlines and damage to the airports' conveyor belt system. To address this issue, passengers intending to use 'Ghana Must Go' for travel are required to have the items well-packaged in cartons or hardcovers of rectangular size, as stated in the circular.
The adverse impact of 'Ghana Must Go' bags on the breakdown of airport conveyor belt systems has led to substantial financial burdens on the airport authority, Gizachew notes.
