The Osun State Council for Arts and Culture has held a soul moving tribute programme in honor of the late Olori Solape Abolarin, the erstwhile Executive Secretary of the Council and wife of the Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin.

Speaking at the solemn event tagged “Tribute Day,” the Chairman of the Council, Hon. Ebenezer Adeniji in an emotional laden voice, described Olori Abolarin as a remarkable woman, a dependable colleague, and a true friend. Fighting back tears, he praised her quiet strength, unwavering discipline, and graceful leadership, which he said set the tone for the Council’s achievements.

“She was not just an Executive Secretary by title, she was the soul of the agency. Her commitment ensured the success of every endeavour. Her passing is an irreplaceable loss to the Council and the entire cultural community.” Stated Hon. Adeniji.

Also speaking at the event, her husband, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his beloved wife, noting that her death left a pain that words could not fully express. He described her as a well-trained, humble, caring wife and mother, adding that she died at a time when her legacy was being written in gold. While pledging his continued support to the Council in all its activities, the Monarch further proposed that a Playlet titled "Abake" be put together in her honour.

Both Mrs. Akinloye Aderonke, Director of Administration and Supplies, and Olori Solape Abolarin’s younger sister Mrs Afolabi Chritiahan in their tribute messages, described her as a peaceful, passionate, and hardworking leader, whose presence inspired those around her.

The memorial event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Alapomu of Apomu, Oba Kayode Afolabi, members of the Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), led by Prince Ayo Oladapo. Others are representatives from the Osun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Osun State Tourism Board, and the Osun State Council for Arts and Culture.
